The Singing Cold
A frozen wasteland, elevated high above the rest of the caldera and blanketed in perpetual snow. The crags of the mountains can be deadly, as can the ice fields on the plateau beyond. A strange abandoned outpost is sometimes exposed by the wind.

Mist's Edge
Dark pines thickly cover the northwestern area of the caldera. This forest is cool and often misty, with storms and heavy snow frequent. A vast lake in the forest's center features a massive, steep-sided island covered in its own trees.

Everdark
Old-growth deciduous trees make up this forest, the dark leaves of their ancient branches steeping the forest floor in shadow. This is a wood of stags, bears and wolves, and it is decidedly unsafe for the unprepared.

The Tangle
The Tangle is a savage thicket many miles across, formed of twisted vines and thorny brush curled around dark-leaved trees. Thornbeasts roam here, and Dark-aligned characters often feel pulled to this place. A mysterious shrine is built in the far west, around a lone and ruined tower.

Heartlands
The fertile plains between the caldera's rivers are made up primarily of wide open prairie. This grassland is dotted with waterholes. The landscape is kept interesting by sweeping hills and outcrops. The remains of a railroad lead north from the ruins of a great city in the south.

Damp Hollow
The eastern river's delta encompasses a vast swampland. Riddled with ponds and streams, thick with foliage, it is a haven for aquatic creatures. Its rivers empty in grand waterfalls north into the bay.

The Blooming Thicket
The bright, well-lit eastern forest serves as a buffer between the White Wood at the cliff shore, and the prairie to the west. It is a relatively peaceful place, full of gentler wildlife and seemingly always in bloom.

The White Wood
Standing astride the ocean cliffs, the White Wood provides an answer to The Tangle: a pure, peaceful, ethereal place. It is unnaturally peaceful, and predators do not hunt prey, here. Most of the foliage is white, and both it and the streams seem almost to glow.

The Sun Plains
The savanna is a large, flat plain south of the temperate forests. It consists mostly of scrub brush and an occasional wiry tree. It is very warm and dry, so that its diverse animal life must always be aware of the next water hole to survive.

Burning Sands
South of the savanna is the desert: alternating hard-packed earth and sand dunes, and sprinkled with cactuses and sharp, dry plants. There is still wildlife, here, but it is specialized to the heat, and often tough and dangerous.

The Scars
The southern rim of the caldera encroaches into the desert in labyrinthine canyons. Red-rock ravines, outcrops and rock formations provide an incredible view, for those that can safely make the journey to see it. There is shade and water, but a risk of flash floods.

Deadlands
Far in the Caldera's southwest lies a warm but lifeless marsh. Black, dead trees point at life that once dwelt there; but now its waters and air are both polluted. It is hard to breathe, there, and the water cannot be safely drunk--possibly tainted by the seismic activity beneath.
